Athina Negri, M.Ed, is a member of the Laboratory Teaching Staff of the Philosophy Department of the School of Philosophy at the University of Ioannina and her area of expertise is History of Education. She has a bachelor’s degree from the Department of History and Archaeology of the University of Ioannina and a Master’s Degree in Sciences of Education (History and Sociology of Education) with excellence from the Department of Philosophy, Education and Psychology of the University of Ioannina. She currently is a PhD candidate in Sociology of Education at the Department of Philosophy. Her Research Interests are History of Modern Greek Education, the language issue, Historiography of Modern Greek Education and Sociology of Education. Her previous working experience was as a member of the Laboratory, Technical staff of the Philosophy, Education and Psychology Department and a member of the administrative staff of the Philosophy, Education and Psychology Department and the School of Health Sciences of the University of Ioannina.
She was also employed as a bank clerk at the bank loan department of the Macedonia & Thrace Bank SA and she has taught the English language at foreign language centres in Ioannina. She was a researcher at the Inclusion of Roma Children in School EE Project (O.P.Ε.I.V.T ΙΙ) run by the Philosophy, Education and Psychology Department of the University of Ioannina. Also a member of the, secretariat/management staff and researcher at the “Development of supplementary educational material for introducing and mainstreaming gender-related issues in the educational process” EE Project (Action Category 4.1.1.δ -O.P.Ε.I.V.T ΙΙ) run by the Philosophy, Education and Psychology Department of the University of Ioannina.
