Spyridon Orestis Palermos is Assistant Professor of Contemporary Philosophy in the Department of Philosophy at the University of Ioannina.

He specialises in contemporary analytic philosophy of mind and cognitive science, epistemology, philosophy of science, philosophy of technology and applied ethics (mainly neuroethics).

One of his main interests concerns the integration of humans with technology and the subsequent epistemological and ethical ramifications.

Before joining the University of Ioannina in 2022, he was Associate Professor (Senior Lecturer) of Philosophy at Cardiff University, and prior to that Postgraduate Research Fellow at the University of Edinburgh.

Orestis frequently publishes articles and co-edits philosophical volumes for leading international journals and academic presses.

His latest book is entitled: Cyborg Rights: Extending Cognition, Ethics, and the Law.
